The New York Police Department (NYPD) partnered with the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), the City's District Attorneys, and community-based organizations to open gyms and expand its "Saturday Night Lights" (SNL) program. SNL is a summer program that provides access to free youth sports programming on Saturday nights. This extension will affect one contract and the term will be for one year to ensure continuity for these crucial services. The extension will allow DYCD the necessary time to procure these services competitively in the future. DYCD is currently working on the concept paper and reviewing the program model. It is important for the continuation of the Saturday Night Lights Continuation, which ends 6/30/2026. Although, the program has proven to be successful and stakeholders are engaged and committed to its continued success. In order to ensure no disruption is services DYCD will extend the current contracts for one year. The NAE will grant nine (9) contract awards for the term of one year. The NAE will allow DYCD to competitively award these services in the future; currently DYCD is prioritizing the award and registration of the COMPASS Elementary and Middle School RFPs contracts before we release the Saturday Night Lights Continuation concept paper/solicitation in the future.
