Description

The Internship Placement Services (IPS) Program is a comprehensive approach to employment services which recognizes the needs of individual Cash Assistance (CA) clients who are enrolled in an HRA-approved course of study and choose to participate in the internship as part of their education program and provide additional support that consist of a combination of services, including assessments; services coordination, internship placement, and employment to clients as they complete their education and training and transition them into sustainable, unsubsidized employment that is aligned with their field of study. The goal is to assist each CA client in entering or returning to the workforce to build sustainable careers that will lead to self-sufficiency. We are also increasing the number of subsidized internships. Contract award shall be subject to the timely completion of contract negotiations between the Agency and the provider. The continued need for the Internship Placement Services (IPS) is required in order to reduce the number of clients receiving assistance and to provide the services that will lead them to becoming self-sufficient.
