Description

The Trust is dedicated to safeguarding public housing in New York City. A government agency created in 2022 after unprecedented advocacy from New Yorkers eager for a solution to improve their homes and communities, the Trust repairs, renovates, and modernizes public housing for residents in partnership with the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). In 2023, the Trust’s initial Board of Trustees was appointed, and the Trust started hiring its first employees.  A copy of the Trust’s legislation can be found here: https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/bills/2021/S9409

The Trust is in the process of building out an integrated program to deliver on all four of our strategic capabilities which are Capital Project Delivery, Financing, Resident Partnerships, and Oversight and Asset Management.  All the Trust’s work is guided by a set of core values, which include Resident Empowerment, Action-Oriented Excellence, Future-Forward Resilience, Informed Innovation, and Collaborative Strength.   More information on the Trust can be found here: https://www.preservationtrust.org/
