Training Manikins (MATT) for the FDNY Stop the Bleed Program which is a new, department-wide public education initiative designed to train members of the general public in recognizing and controlling life-threatening bleeding. Effective hands-on training is a key component of this program, and it requires durable, high-fidelity simulation equipment capable of replicating realistic traumatic bleeding scenarios. The TacMed Multiple Amputation Trauma Trainer (MATT) manikin is specifically engineered for trauma and hemorrhage control training. Unlike the EMS Academy’s current manikin inventory (which is not designed for high-stress bleeding simulation) the MATT provides realistic, rugged, and repeatable training experiences. It is purpose-built for both indoor and outdoor environments and features a fully waterproof and impact-resistant design, ensuring longevity and reliability during repeated training sessions.
