The Public Engagement Unit's (PEU) mission is to identify and execute new strategies by leveraging Data Analytics to recognize New Yorkers in need of the services which are available to them and to also navigate them to the respective city services accessible to them as per the individual’s need. The Engage team at PEU are the developers of the EngageNYC application, which is an outreach, canvassing, and case management tool that is used by a certain PEU teams and partners. Development work is continuing on the EngageNYC application, with the purpose of rolling the application out to additional PEU teams and partners. The EngageNYC application will replace a combination of outdated/insufficient CRMs and spreadsheets that they currently use. Additionally, maintenance of EngageNYC is ongoing to keep the tool updated and in compliance for the teams who rely on the EngageNYC application to do their work daily. The system has been in production for more than 6 years and some additional enhancements are needed to reflect changes in the teams' workflow and responsibilities, which has also changed over the years.
