Description

Contract PW331S17C - The work to be performed under this Contract, in general, is the taking of land and marine borings for the City of New York, Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC), to obtain reliable subsurface soil, rock and groundwater information for the preparation of plans for the construction of highway projects Citywide. The work shall consist of advancing steel casings, and mud rotary drilling through soil or other materials, drilling two and one-eighth (2 1/8) inch cores in rock with diamond drill bits, taking split spoon samples and/or undisturbed samples, determining groundwater elevations, performing various in-situ testing, excavating for test pits at the locations and depth directed by the Engineer, and doing other related work, such as environmental drilling through a Geoprobe® as outlined in the Technical Specifications.
