Description

The agency is pursuing this Negotiated Acquisition to enable DOT's Transportation Refrigeration Unit (TRU) and Clean Trucks Program to enable the agency to spend non-federal funding to substantially reduce local air pollution, by upgrading the dirtiest of the roughly 1,000 old, polluting TRUs at the Hunts Point Food Distribution Center in the Bronx and replace older diesel-burning trucks with cleaner trucks citywide. The vendor will perform consultant and program management services in connection with the TRU and truck incentive program. Pursuing a negotiated acquisition will allow DOT to move quickly to implement this critical and time-sensitive air quality initiative, maximizing benefits for the affected Bronx communities.
