General Information/Brief Summary:                                                                                              

This Request for Proposal solicitation is to select and award up to one (1) contract to provide the New York School Construction Authority with A&E Services in Connection with Demolition Engineering.   The Not-to-Exceed award amount of the contract will be up to $1,250,000, for a duration of up to three years.

DOB Now Build, an integrated system for job filing with NYC DOB has implemented new job type that removes prefiling ability for full demolition work. As per Building Code BC3306.5 this requires more means and methods of engineering of demolition for existing structures. Such in-depths means and methods of engineering including bracing, shoring and other stabilization measures along with the ability to list and describe all such proposed equipment to be used in the demolition work is a specialized field, therefore, there is a need to engage a consultant with expertise in demolition and stabilization of existing building(s) to:

  • Develop partial removal or full demolition strategy including plans, engineering, calculations with practical and innovative solutions with limited site access.
  • Prepare phasing and sequence list equipment, providing scope of equipment work, positioning of equipment in compliance with BC3306.8 and BC3306.9.
  • Produce detailed plans for stabilization, repair and monitoring. Prepare sheeting, shoring and bracing methods for the demolition of the entire structure(s) in a manner that is safe, efficient, and fully compliant with all applicable. New York City Building Code provisions.
  • Provide site logistics plan, debris management, debris chute drawings, and stockpiling limitations.
  • Provide signed and sealed drawings; each building may require multiple filings for removal of buildings to grade, as well as removal of foundations and associated BIN numbers.
  • Provide Construction administration services including:
  • Review and response to contractor RFI’s
  • Review of submittals as required by contract documents.
  • Review of reports related to testing and inspection of work.
