Description

BWT-1608-JBCON: With this Request for Proposals (“RFP”), DEP wishes to engage a consultant to provide Master Planning services related to the consolidation of Wastewater Resource Recovery Facilities (WRRFs) in the geographic area of Jamaica Bay (26th Ward, Jamaica Bay, Coney Island, and Rockaway), including a new ocean effluent outfall. The Master Plan shall provide a roadmap for the selected consolidation/outfall scheme over a long term planning period. The consultant will be responsible for assisting DEP in selection of a preferred consolidation scheme based on previous consolidation studies, strategic planning documents, anticipated treatment requirements, and input from the Bureau of Wastewater Treatment. The plan may involve consolidation of multiple WRRFs and/or treatment processes, a deep ocean outfall for treated effluent, force mains for transmission of liquids and solids, and climate resiliency measures.
