Description

Receipt, Pre-Processing and Conversion of Residential and Institutional Source-Separated Food Waste and Other Organic Waste to Beneficial Use. The contractors shall receive deliveries of source separated organics (food scraps, leaf and yard waste, school and agency organics) collected by DSNY throughout NYC. Upon receipt, contractor shall pre-process and decontaminate the delivered organic material in preparation for recovery for beneficial use. Contractor will have the option to provide the beneficial use services (e.g., composting/anaerobic digestion) or deliver to NYC DEP for co-digestion.

DSNY anticipates multiple contract awards under this procurement for various tons per year and at different price points depending on the number of steps in the recovery process the contractor provides. These contracts shall provide additional capacity for processing and reuse of organics as DSNY rolls out the expansion of the Citywide organics collection program through brown bins, SMART bins, and school organics.
