Description

DOHMH is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit proposals from appropriately qualified organizations to operate the Strong Messenger Program (SMP) at all Cure Violence (CV) sites located in each of New York City’s five boroughs.

CV is a data driven, community-based, violence prevention program model that employs a public health approach.

The Strong Messenger Project (SMP) is an enhancement to CV that provides therapeutic support to direct-care CV staff. SMP looks to deploy qualified culturally attuned mental health professionals to provide NYC Cure Violence direct-care workers with services that promote their mental health and wellness and emotional stability.

The CV model is currently being implemented at 31 sites in neighborhoods throughout the five boroughs of the city. The contractor would provide direct therapeutic services to over 250 direct-care staff.
