New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is seeking a Consultant Team to provide Architectural Design and Related Consulting Services for the Chinatown Connections Project. The Chinatown Downtown Revitalization Initiative Strategic Investment Plan proposes various public realm improvements to better the quality of life and economic opportunity for Chinatown, Manhattan’s diverse residents, workers, entrepreneurs, and visitors. Chinatown Connections prioritizes two public realm components: (1) Realignment of Chatham/Kimlau Square to improve navigation and expand public space within the complex intersection geometry; and (2) Creation of a Chinatown Welcome Gateway to commemorate the cultural heritage of Chinatown. The Project is to be carried out with robust community engagement and participation to achieve an integrated and holistic design approach.

NYCEDC plans to select a consultant on the basis of factors stated in the RFP which include, but are not limited to: the quality of the proposal, experience of key staff identified in the proposal, experience and quality of any subcontractors proposed, demonstrated successful experience in performing services similar to those encompassed in the RFP, and the proposed fee.

NYCEDC established the Contract Financing Loan Fund programs for Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (M/W/DBE) interested in working on public construction projects. Contract Financing Loan Fund facilitates financing for short-term mobilization needs such as insurance, labor, supplies and equipment. An optional hybrid (in-person and virtual) pre-proposal informational session will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 10 A.M. at NYCEDC, One Liberty Plaza, New York, NY 10006, 14TH Floor and through the link on the project’s web page, at https://edc.nyc/rfps. Respondents may submit questions and/or request clarifications from NYCEDC no later than 5:00 P.M. on Friday, May 31, 2024. Questions regarding the subject matter of this RFP should be directed to chinatownconnectionsdesign@edc.nyc. Answers to all questions will be posted by Friday, June 7, 2024, to https://edc.nyc/rfps.
