Description

For the NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit (ESU). Chosen for purchase by ESU due to its level of ballistic protection against rifle rounds, the ability to be deployed rapidly, as well as the ability to fit through common thresholds. In addition, the TYR system is 200 pounds lighter and more portable than the system currently in use by ESU. The purchase of this system is vital to life safety for members of ESU as well as the public while in hostile environments where rifle rounds are a threat.
