Description

This project is the first phase of a multi-phase masterplan for the Center and includes building-wide improvements in accessibility and life safety. With the installation of a new fire alarm system and elevator, the Center will significantly advance its ability to serve its tenants, community, and the public. A new accessible entrance will be introduced from Norfolk Street with selective improvements to the existing yard, its paving and lighting. The installation of an elevator at its western (rear) façade, and new elevator lobbies at all floors, will vastly improve access to all areas of the building. Accessible restrooms are included as part of the renovation of the main building lobby between Suffolk and Norfolk Streets, with associated local improvements to building systems.
