New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is seeking input from the innovation ecosystem, specifically in the tech, engineering, and biological disciplines. NYCEDC would like to hear from all stakeholders working in these spaces, including startups, academics, industry consultants, private and public investors, venture capitalists, lab and incubator operators, medical institutions, researchers (clinical, translation, applied, etc.), policy and regulatory experts, leaders of workforce development entities and other nonprofit entities, real estate developers or partners and others. Responses should help the City of New York identify specific areas within tech-forward life sciences where we should focus capacity building as it relates to infrastructure, programming, events, activities, training and/or other areas.
The insight gathered from this RFI should help NYCEDC evaluate its role in the market, define how to best support the advancements of technology in the life sciences industry and determine how to move forward. NYCEDC does not intend to issue any awards or agreements on the basis of this RFI.
It is the policy of NYCEDC to comply with all federal, state and City laws and regulations which prohibit unlawful discrimination because of race, creed, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, marital status and other protected category and to take affirmative action in working with contracting parties to ensure certified Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises (“M/WBE”) share in the economic opportunities generated by NYCEDC’s projects and initiatives.
Companies who have been certified with the New York City Department of Small Business Services as M/WBEs are strongly encouraged to respond. To learn more about M/WBE certification and NYCEDC’s M/WBE program, please visit https://sbsconnect.nyc.gov/certification-directory-search/.
