Description

DEP intends to enter into a Sole Source Agreement with Goosetown Enterprises dba Goosetown Communications to provide a trunked Land Mobile Radio (“LMR”) communications system, including all required equipment, airtime, and no-fault maintenance, for BPS and BWS.

The Bureau of Police & Security, Police Division of the DEP is responsible for protecting the New York City water supply which extends 125 miles north and west of New York City encompassing 9 upstate counties and includes over 175,000 acres of city owned land and hundreds of miles of remote cut and cover aqueduct. The police officers whose duty it is to protect this vital resource need a land mobile radio communications system.

After an extensive review working with the US Army Corp of Engineers who conducted a market survey to find a radio system to meet the agency's needs it was determined that only one vendor appeared to be able to provide the required system. An internet search was conducted, and a review of the Vendor Outreach Report was done and have found no other vendors in the industry that supplies land mobile communications in the 9 counties that we operate outside the city.

Any firm which believes it can also provide the required service IN THE FUTURE is invited to so, indicated by letter which must be received no later than September 18, 2023, 4:00 PM
