Description

The Trust is seeking Submissions to this RFEI that support its sustainability and resiliency vision through investments in on-site infrastructure, development of new infrastructure facilities that improve Island operations, and/or investments that align with broader City and State clean energy transition and green and blue job workforce development goals as described in the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (“CLCPA”) Final Scoping Plan and PlaNYC: Getting Sustainability Done (“PlaNYC”) . Potential projects include, but are not limited to:

• Uses supporting the State’s renewable energy development goals pursuant to the CLCPA; • Renewable energy generation for on-Island consumption; • Power grid resiliency improvements, such as battery and other energy storage technologies; • District-scale heat-exchange systems using geothermal wells, leveraging the Island’s sanitary sewage system or other forms; • Sustainable solutions for organic waste management; • District-scale solutions for grey water management; • Low-carbon/No-Carbon transportation systems or associated support infrastructure for carbon-free transportation systems.

The Trust envisions leasing property (e.g., land, buildings, or portions of waterfront infrastructure) to facilitate projects, but is open to alternative forms of agreements such as service and financing contracts, infrastructure easements, etc. as required to facilitate a specific project.
