This procurement action will be procured by way of a Negotiated Acquisition Extension and the sole purpose of this method is to ensure the continuity of service so that GPI can provide services through October 10, 2023 as outlined in the underlying contract. GPI's evaluations for the last several years have been Good and/or Satisfactory. Therefore, continuing to have GPI provide the services would be most effective, as there will not be enough time to procure the services of another contractor without creating a break in services to the Department of Correction. The Department of Correction is in the preliminary stages of preparing an RFP.
Description

In accordance with 3-04(b)(2)(iii) of the NYC Procurement Policy Rules, DOC intends to enter into a Negotiated Acquisition Extension with   Greenman - Pedersen Inc. (GPI) for an additional 12 months, starting approximately October 10, 2022 through October 9, 2023. GPI was contracted by the Department of Correction to provide Engineering/Architecture Consultant Services .  This requirement contract has exhausted its renewal option and a subsequent Amendment.  It is necessary to continue these services, therefore, the Department is requesting the use of a Negotiated Acquisition Extension so that these services can continue until a new competitive solicitation is in place.  GPI contract when extended will provide Architectural consultant services to continue with some of the projects that are currently in construction and projects that are upcoming.  These contracts are very important to support the funded projects for DOC's initiative to bring facilities to a state of good repairs.  The Department of Correction is in the preliminary stages of preparing an RFP.
