DSBS has determined to award a sole source contract to EDC. DSBS advertised its intent to negotiate in the City Record from March 8th to March 14th, 2022 and invited any other local development corporation with the appropriate experience, and which believed that at present or in the future it could provide the requested services, to so indicate responses in PASSPort. Five (5) responses were received in consideration however it was determined that EDC is the only qualified entity and has performed similar services satisfactorily for many years. In light of the above, procuring the contract by competitive sealed bidding is not practicable or advantageous and a sole source procurement to EDC is the only appropriate alternative under the circumstances.
Description

The agency is chartered to expand economic opportunity throughout the City and this is pinnacle to the responsibilities and agencies mission for City-wide economic development services to the City of New York without limitation, Acting as the City’s consultant and representative in order to ensure that jobs are retained and developed in the City. This procurement will ensure that the only local development corporation with the required experience and in-house expertise to perform on a City-wide basis all of the services to be performed EDC has satisfactorily performed similar services for several years and has experience and inhouse expertise in the services to be performed. The contract in question will be for a one year term expected to commence July 1, 2022, which contract will provide that the term may be extended by the City by up to one year.
