Description

To operate one Tier II City-owned residence for families with children. The mission of DHS is to prevent homelessness when possible and to provide short-term, emergency shelter for individuals and families who have no other housing options available. In addition to locating permanent housing, the Tier II residence program stabilizes the family and promotes the move to independent living. Tier II residences must provide, at a minimum, social services, assistance in seeking permanent housing, assistance in seeking employment and linkages to childcare, medical and behavioral (mental health and substance use) health care and recreation services. Services are provided on-site and/or through linkages with other community-based programs.
