Description
Brooklyn Bridge Park is in the process of constructing an eighty-five (85) acre waterfront park in Brooklyn, NY. Reconstruction of the Plaza will mark the completion of the Park, one of the most significant public projects to be built in New York in a generation. The future Plaza will add two acres to the Park and will act as a keystone finally connecting the northern DUMBO sections to the southern Piers.

The Plaza project largely compromises of new pavers and asphalt; along with the addition of planting beds designed throughout to enhance Park circulation and visual connections to the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan skyline. The proposed paving design includes new cobles, asphalt, concrete sidewalk, and concrete pavers. This scope will also upgrade some of the existing asphalt and chip & seal throughout the project area. The proposed planting beds will be added to the area under the Brooklyn Bridge, and include an upgrade to the Empire Fulton Ferry Lawn. Site furnishings such as seating will be added to the Empire Fulton Ferry Lawn, along with additional light poles distributed throughout. The addition of security bollards will run the length of the project area from Water Street and Old Dock to Furman and Old Fulton Streets. Scope also includes Park infrastructure upgrades, including civil, plumbing, and electrical units in the Plaza area.
