The NYCDOE on behalf of the Office of Curriculum and Instruction is seeking proposals from organizations experienced in providing professional development, direct student services, coordination and facilitation of fairs/expos and student competitions, and direct services to parent groups in the sciences and/or STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education.  The goal is high quality implementation of the NYCDOE’s science and STEM instructional programs in support of preparing young people for postsecondary opportunities in science and STEM, equipped with the skills needed for 21st century careers and the demands of global competition.

There are four components to this solicitation.  Proposers may address any or all components listed below. While there are four separate components, all are tightly integrated and a strong proposal for any one of these components must be able to integrate with the other components to achieve overall coherence for NYCDOE science and STEM education. 

(1) Educator Professional Development and Capacity Building

(2) Direct Services to Students

(3) Family Engagement and Enrichment Services for Parent and School Community Groups

(4) Coordination and Facilitation of Science and STEM Fairs/Expos and Student Competitions
