Description
Hudson River Park Trust is interested in receiving proposals from experienced and qualified production companies for the production of the Park’s annual Blues Barbeque Festival (“Blues BBQ”). Blues BBQ, a free, day-long summer festival celebrating blues music and barbequed culinary fare, has been one of HRPT’s signature events for the past fourteen years. The 2018 event will be the Festivals 19th anniversary. Previous performers have included Robert Cray, John Lee Hooker Jr., Duwayne Burnside and the Mississippi Mafia, Lucky Peterson, Heritage Blues Orchestra, Kaki King and many other talented performers. Additionally, Blues BBQ has collaborated with many of New York City’s premier barbeque restaurants including Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Brother Jimmy`s BBQ, Virgil’s, Daisy Mae’s, Blue Smoke and Delaney Barbecue. Respondents must be experienced concert promoters/producers able to offer excellent references and demonstrate financial capability. Public sector experience within New York is preferred but not required.

In 2018, the Blues BBQ Festival is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, August 18th and will be open to the public from 2pm -9pm. In the event HRPT decides to renew this contract for any (or all) of the additional terms (up to five (5) one year renewals) the event dates will be determined at a later time.
