On a site that spans over 58,000 square feet, this project is an opportunity to create a thriving mixed-use and mixed-income development with ground floor retail, a community facility, and much-needed open space. The project represents an unprecedented opportunity for qualified developers to make a lasting, meaningful impact on our city. NYCEDC plans to select a developer on the basis of factors stated in the RFP which include, but are not limited to: the quality of the Proposal; the extent to which the Project supports a vibrant mixed-income housing program that contributes to the City’s goal of fostering economically diverse neighborhoods; the quality of the proposed commercial space, community facility space, and publicly accessible open space to serve a rapidly growing neighborhood population; the Proposal’s financial viability and the successful experience of the Respondent’s team in executing similar projects, and the proposed fee.
It is the policy of NYCEDC to comply with all federal, state and City laws and regulations which prohibit unlawful discrimination because of race, creed, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, marital status and other protected category and to take affirmative action in working with contracting parties to ensure certified Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs) share in the economic opportunities generated by NYCEDC’s projects and initiatives.
This project has Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) participation goals, and all respondents will be required to submit an M/WBE Participation Proposal with their response. NYCEDC established the Kick Start Loan programs for Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (M/W/DBE) interested in working on public construction projects. Kick Start Loans facilitates financing for short-term mobilization needs such as insurance, labor, supplies and equipment. Bidders/subcontractors are strongly encouraged to visit the NYCEDC website at www.nycedc.com/opportunitymwdbe to learn more about the program.
An optional informational session will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at NYCEDC. Those who wish to attend should RSVP by email to 1124JacksonAve@edc.nyc on or before February 7, 2017. An optional site visit will be held on February 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at 11-24 Jackson Avenue. Those who wish to attend should RSVP by email to 1124JacksonAve@edc.nyc on or before February 10, 2017. NYCEDC reserves the right to limit attendees to one representative per company in the event that the informational session or site visit is oversubscribed.
