Pursuant to Section 3-05(b) of the City`s Procurement Policy Board Rules, it was determined that this contract should be done as a Sole Source procurement due to the proprietary nature of the Software products that are being used in support of numerous critical mainframe database applications for the NYPD. An Ad was published in the City Record stating the NYPD`s intent to enter into Sole Source negotiations with Software AG USA, Inc. The Ad was published for five (5) consecutive editions of the City Record from November 12, 2010 through November 18, 2010.

The NYPD has awarded a 5 Year Sole Source Contract to Software AG USA, Inc. for the provision of Software Licensing, Software Maintenance, Software Upgrades, and Technical Services.
